¡Hola! I've worked at JEDI since 2020 as a Spanish teacher. I have been teaching since 2008. I've taught kindergarten Spanish through AP Spanish Language and Culture, as well as English in Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. I attended Northern Michigan University for my undergraduate degree in Spanish, Education, English, and Psychology.
During university, I traveled to several Spanish-speaking countries. I volunteered for a month in Peru in 2006 working with a program called Bruce Peru that helped students to receive some education after they had to stop their education (often due to financial restraints) and taught English to Peruvian adults. I also had the opportunity to spend six months studying abroad in Chile at La Pontifica Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. During that time I traveled to Mendoza, Argentina and throughout Chile. I returned to Peru for a two-week trip with students in summer of 2011, to Mexico for el Día de los Muertos in 2010, and in 2013 I traveled to Costa Rica with students.
I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, but currently live in Milton, Wisconsin with my family. I am married to a wonderful man, and we have four children.
