Get Creative! Are you an artist? A musician? A dancer? A photographer? Maybe you like to try your hand at tying intricate fishing lures, creating gourmet recipes, baked goods, or candies, video production or making web pages. Maybe you like to write or try your hand at crafts. Some people pour that creativity into flower arrangements, learning to put a ship in a bottle, woodworking, pottery and ceramics, creating scrapbooks to preserve memories, and MANY other activities.
This portion of the course is meant to encourage you to enjoy as many diverse areas of creativity as you can, research, and try new activities.
Get Physically Active! This will be an adventure to discover and experience as many different forms of physical activity as possible. Record your adventures. Take pictures! Bring us into your life as an active person. Your Activity portfolio will be built throughout the semester and submitted in digital format as a portion of your final exam at the end of the course.
Serve Others! What is Service-Learning? Helping distribute commodities at a food drive is service. Studying the cause and prevention of poverty is learning. When a humanities student collects and analyzes information through participating in a local food drive and studies local poverty numbers and data, then presents the results to a local Social Services agency with a plan to make the community more self-reliant - that's Service Learning.
