Hi! I'm Stephanie Unertl (Ms. Unertl or Ms. U) and I've been teaching with JEDI since 2021, but I was a teacher and/or school library media specialist since 2010, and now I'm also a children's librarian at a public library since January 2023! At JEDI, I teach the Online Literacy Course for grades 6-12, Leadership Skills Development, and Study Skills and Strategies and I co-advise the middle school Battle of the Books team and the high school Speech (a.k.a. Forensics) team. I earned my Bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire in Theatre Arts Education (preK-12) with a minor in Library Science with an education emphasis and my Master's degree from UW-Madison in Library and Information Studies with a preK-12 emphasis.
I live in Edgerton, WI with my husband, our two children, and our two cats. I love baking/cake decorating, sewing, and reading in my free time! I prefer reading fantasy and science fiction books (but really, I'm game for anything with a good story) and my favorite authors list includes Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, Susan Cooper, and Joelle Charbonneau.
