JEDI Distance Learning Network

Benefits of Having
JEDI
in
Your District

  • Membership in JEDI consortium brings choices and educational benefits.
  • The JEDI Distance Learning Network offers a variety of curriculum choices to your students - students who need a single course to enhance their program or students who wish to enroll full time in a district virtual school.
  • All courses are taught by certified teachers, are aligned with WDPI curriculum standards, and are approved by the consortium.
  • JEDI offers comprehensive elementary, middle school, and high school curriculums including core, elective and enrichment coursework.
  • JEDI offers a wide variety of World Language, Advanced Placement, and Credit Recovery courses.
  • Collaborative effort of participating school districts.  Each district included in the consortium is committed to this idea.
  • JEDI is a completely non-profit organization funded solely by the school districts in the consortium.  Unlike many other virtual high schools, none of the funding received for the operation of JEDI is given to any outside organization.
  • An education that actually gives students a choice with a wide range of classes targeted at a wide variety of learners.
  • The use of asynchronous classes makes JEDI available to students anytime, anywhere.
  • Trained learning coaches are assigned for full-time JVS students to monitor student progress.  It is important to note that these are not simply a parent or concerned adult. They are an addition to that learning team.
  • Personalized education plans tailored to each JVS student’s needs.
  • JEDI captures what is good in the traditional classroom and combines it with technology.
  • Each student is linked to their resident school district for transcription of grades, activities, etc. .
  • JEDI allows students who need a more individualized learning environment to avoid unnecessary distractions of the traditional classroom.
  • A majority of the students that were polled prefer to work at their own pace.  While students have start and end dates for their courses, and create an individual pacing chart to plan adequate progress, JEDI is available 24/7 and provides what students want, when they need it.
  • JEDI Distance Education Network has been in operation since the 1996-97 school year and continues to improve year after year.
